My girls are big fans of the new My Little Pony series and Joel enjoys analyzing the class structure of the world. Basically there are earth ponies who are the food producers, ponies with wings who manage things and allicorns (ponies with wings and unicorn horns) who make the sun and moon rise each day. There is even one episode where they ponies meet some buffalo and have an uncomfortable interaction which ultimately re-imposes the colonial order of things. But poor moose. While it has a majestic rack of horns s/he could never progress in society without wings and yesterday on my walk home I came across this depiction of moose in majestic flight. Look at how happy s/he seems. What do you think the cutie mark for a flying moose would be?
